How It Works
The Shingle Science, Without the Sales Pitch
An asphalt shingle is a fiberglass mat saturated with asphalt oils, with ceramic granules pressed into the surface. The oils keep the mat flexible and waterproof and hold the granules in place. Weather takes them out, and in the Willamette Valley, eight months of saturation followed by a bone-dry July and August takes them out faster than a national average would suggest.
Rejuvenation replaces those oils. The treatment is sprayed across the full roof surface, penetrates the shingle, and restores the properties that were lost. The roof looks and behaves like a roof again, because the shingle itself changed, not because something was painted over it.

The oil soaks into the asphalt matrix rather than forming a film on top. Nothing to add weight, trap moisture or peel away in a few winters.
Granule Adhesion
A shingle that has its oils back grips its granules. Granules are the layer taking the UV and the impact. Losing them is what actually ends a roof's life.

Does Your Roof Qualify?
Rejuvenation is right for a specific kind of roof. Here is the honest version of the list, the same one Richard works from on the roof.
Good Candidate
- Asphalt shingle roof, typically 6 to 20 years old
- Shingle body intact, no widespread cracking through the mat
- No active leaks or deck rot
- Granule loss present but not down to the mat across whole slopes
- Flashing, valleys and penetrations in serviceable condition
Not a Candidate
- Active leaks or water damage inside the home
- Widespread missing, lifted or torn shingles
- Soft or rotted decking underneath
- Roofs at true end of life, where replacement is the honest answer
- Tile, metal, cedar shake or flat membrane roofs
Not every roof qualifies. Rejuvenation works on asphalt shingle roofs that are still structurally sound, typically 6 to 20 years old with the shingle body intact. If your roof has active leaks, widespread missing shingles, deck rot, or damage beyond what rejuvenation can address, Richard will tell you that at the free inspection and you'll owe nothing. We'd rather lose the job than take it on a roof that needs replacing.

On-Roof Evaluation
Richard inspects the roof himself: shingle condition, granule retention, flashing, age, penetrations, and how much moss you're carrying. He's looking for one thing: whether rejuvenation is actually the right call for your roof.
He checks granule coverage in the gutters as well as on the roof, looks at flashing, valleys, vents and pipe boots, presses shingles for brittleness, and notes shade and moss pressure slope by slope.
Straight Answer + Written Quote
You get photos of your own roof and a plain-English report. If it qualifies, you get a fixed quote, including moss removal if the roof needs it first. If it doesn't qualify, he tells you that and you owe nothing.
The report is written for a homeowner, not a roofer. If replacement is the honest answer, that is the answer you get, and there is no charge for hearing it.
Treatment Day
Moss comes off first if there is any. Then GreenSoy™ is sprayed across the full roof surface. Most Lane County homes are done in a day. No tear-off, no dumpster, no crew in your house.
